New Small Group Opportunity for Moms-MOPS!

MCON is proud to announce a new opportunity for moms in our church and community to connect and grow together through the MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) program. Our first group will be taking place on Wednesday nights from 6-8PM and will tentatively start with an info meeting/connect time on Wednesday, September 9th. We are looking for leaders, participants, nursery workers, and Pre-K and Kindergarten leaders for the endeavor! Contact Pastor Matt for more info.

Wednesday Night nursery and pre-K volunteers! As we seek to begin a MOPS (Mothers of Preschoolers) gathering on Wednesday Nights beginning Sept. 9, we are in need of a full rotation of nursery and Pre-K volunteers and ministry leaders. Contact Pastor Matt for more info.

Attention Mid-town Kids Jr. (Nursery) Workers!

Thank you for your continued involvement and investment in the lives of children here at MCON. Please pick-up a September schedule at the Mid-town Kids Jr. check-in desk in the foyer. As a follow-up to the great NazSafe training we had this past Saturday, we would like to meet with each of you in the next few weeks to go over security, check-in, and nursery policies. Please join us at ONE of these times at the check-in desk for a brief meeting:

  • Sunday, August 31st 12:00-12:30pm
  • Sunday, August 31st 5:00-5:30pm
  • Wednesday, September 2nd 5:00-5:30pm

Please contact Rachel Gargiulo (our new Nursery Coordinator) to confirm that you received this new schedule for September, as well as which of the three meetings you are available.

Class 101

Anyone interested in learning more about MCON-or about the global Church of Nazarene-is invited to join Pastor Phil for an informative and interactive class on Sunday, 9/13. This class is highly recommended for anyone desiring to become a member of our church. The class will begin right after the morning worship service and will include a light lunch. Please let Pastor Phil know in advance if you plan to attend so that arrangements can be made for materials and food.

Ladies—Save the Date!

Our district women's retreat - "Orange You Glad?" - will be held in Ft. Wayne on Friday and Saturday, October 2nd and 3rd. The special speaker is Chrissy Cymbala Toledo (daughter of Jim and Carol Cymbala) and retreat worship leader will be Carrie Wisehart. Retreat events and also overnight accommodations will be at the Hotel Ft. Wayne. The retreat begins with a banquet on Friday evening and ends on Saturday at 3:00pm. The cost for retreat and accommodations is approximately $100/person. This retreat is a lot of fun and something you don't want to miss! The Ark Pre-School

The Ark Pre-School has openings for the next school year in the 3 & 4 year old class and the Pre-K Pre-School Class. Daycare is also available this summer and during the next school year, call 354-4976 or go to The Ark Daycare/Preschool for more information.

To receive texts from MCON, one of our frequently used forms of communication, send a message from your cell phone to 40650 that says "Join MCON" (without quotation marks). Also be sure that no automatic signature is included in the message. You will receive a text message back asking you to replay "yes" to confirm.

THE COVE

Cove hours on Tuesday and Thursday will be 3:00-6:00PM each week. On Wednesday, the Cove will be open from 3:00PM until approximately 9:00PM when the Water's Edge ministries conclude. Help us spread the word! This is a great place to meet with friends, play games, do homework, and enjoy relaxing together.

CCK - Crisis Care Kits

Don't forget to help support our crisis outreach efforts by providing one or more Crisis Care Kits. These kits are sent to areas in the US where natural disasters have occurred and provide immediate hygiene and small items for those who have lost everything. Please continue to bring CCK so we may replenish our supply.

  • 1 medium-size bottle of shampoo (12-18 oz.)
  • 2 bars of soap (bath-size or larger)
  • 1 medium toothpaste (4.0-6.4 oz.)
  • 3 toothbrushes
  • 1 box of band-aids (30 or more)
  • 1 fingernail clipper
  • 1 sturdy hair comb
  • 2 hand towels
  • 4 pocket-size packages of facial tissue
  • 1 Beanie Baby-size stuffed toy

  • Women's Monthly Prayer: First Saturday of month at 9:00am
  • Men's Monthly Prayer: Second Saturday of month at 7:30am
