Child Dedications and Believer Baptisms on November 6

Sunday, November 6 will be a great day of celebration and worship as we will be conducting both child (infant) dedications and believer baptisms during our service that day. We are inviting families and individuals who are interested in participating in either or both of these two sacred events to do so. This ritual is open to families of both infants and young children.

Dedication Rituals are available to all parents who would like to express their commitment to Christian Parenthood and have not yet presented their children for dedication to do so. This is especially appropriate and encouraged for parents of recently born infants. It is now the practice of our church to offer services of dedication at least twice each year when these rituals will be performed. By doing so we can make this event even more meaningful and significant for all participating families.

The Sacrament of Believer Baptism is an important and essential part of every Christians confession of Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. While we believe it is through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ that one is born again through forgiveness of sins and adoption in to the family of God, baptism is the formal manner in which Christians testify publicly to their faith in obedience to the example and commandment of Jesus. We encourage every Christian who has not yet testified to his or her faith through baptism to participate in this service.

Pastor Rogers will plan to meet with every family and individual who would like to be a part of this service beforehand to inform and instruct concerning the deeper significance and meaning of both dedication and baptism. Because of this, we ask that all interested persons contact Pastor Rogers by calling the church office 765-354-2327 or by E-Mailing middletownnaz@sbcglobal.net.

Restore the JoyLadies, mark your Calendar! Our live simulcast of the Come to the Fire Women's Holiness Conference will be Friday, November 11th. We'll kick off the evening with a delicious meal and join together in the small sanctuary for this service with special speaker, Rondy Smith. Many of our ladies have attended this spirit-filled event in the past and know it promises to be a wonderful time of spiritual renewal, encouragement, and challenge. Please note that the full conference schedule begins on Thursday evening and ends with the closing service on Saturday morning. If anyone is interested in seeing any of the other 4 services that will take place during this conference, please talk to Pastor Sherry.

Prayer Challenge

Election Day is just 30 days away. We are challenging our people to pray for this election every day for the next 30 days. We encourage you to pray as the Spirit leads you to pray, but also suggest these four specific prayers:

1) for wisdom in knowing how to vote;
2) for Godly leaders to rise up;
3) for our nation to repent and turn to God;
4) for a worldwide, Spirit-led revival.

For more information on how to pray for elections, see the enclosed insert.

Discipleship Opportunities

It's not too late to get in on one of the new discipleship classes currently taking place on Wednesday evenings We are offering special studies for men and women. Wendell Ferguson is leading our men in a study called "Courageous Resolution for Men" and Pam Poor is leading our ladies in a study called, "Teach Us to Want." Both classes begin at 6:30PM.

Teach Us to Want-Ladies Study-Wednesday at 6:30pm

We all want things: certain relationships, just the right job, affirmation from others, a life full of purpose. Our culture encourages us to go after those things, pursue your "I want" list with passion. Christianity seems to send a different message: wanting is sinful and selfish. Faith is about obedience and sacrifice. How do we reconcile the desires of our hearts with what we think God wants for us? Using God's word and insight from Jen Pollock Michael we will sort these out. Please plan to join us beginning 10/12 in room 120. We look forward to seeing you.

Transformed for Obedience

A weekly discipleship class focusing on God's sanctifying power and also his desire to continually transform us into His likeness is being offered by Pastor Phil. The class will run through the month of October and is open to anyone. Sessions will be held each Tuesday in the fireplace room beginning at 6:30pm.

MOPSOur Mother's of Pre-Schools (MOPS) group are meeting the 1st and 3rd Wednesday's of each month in the fireplace room. We will share a meal with moms and kids from 6-6:30pm and then nursery care is provided for infants through pre-school and school aged kids can attend kids church programs while moms enjoy a little time connecting with other moms from 6:30-8:00pm. If you'd like to sign up early so you can receive your welcome kit including workbook/devotionals for the beginning of the school year or have questions contact Terri Gift, Corinne Havenstrite, Jennifer Michael or Sara Filler. If you feel led to help this group with meals, nursery care or to be a mentor mom please contact one of us.
